Historically, Parthenope was the original name of Naples. Around 8th century BCE, Greek colonists from Cumae (another Greek settlement in Italy) established a small town on the Pizzofalcone hill, naming it Parthenope after the Siren. This early settlement, however, struggled and was later replaced by a stronger colony named Neapolis ("New City") in the 5th century BCE, which grew into modern-day Naples.
Parthenope is a family-owned and operated restaurant that brings the authentic flavors of Naples, Italy, to Deerfield Beach. Chef Sergio, the heart behind the restaurant, was born and raised in Italy before moving to the United States as a young boy. His passion for cooking blossomed at a young age while working alongside his father in the kitchen. During a visit to Italy, Sergio met his wife, Luisa, and the two began their journey together. They first settled in Connecticut, where they started their family and opened their first restaurant. However, tired of the cold weather, they relocated to South Florida to share their love of Neapolitan cuisine in a warmer, vibrant community. At Parthenope, every dish is crafted using traditional recipes from Naples, ensuring an authentic and heartfelt dining experience.
